AK Professionals
ICAK Professionals are fully qualified healthcare practitioners who are registered with their respective professional regulatory bodies and adhere to established codes of conduct and ethical practice.
These professionals include osteopaths, chiropractors, medical doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, and acupuncturists who have undertaken accredited training in Applied Kinesiology and integrate its principles into their clinical work as an advanced diagnostic and assessment tool.
All ICAK Professionals are committed to maintaining high standards of clinical competence, continuing professional development, and patient-centred care.
The ICAK Foundation Course
The Foundation Course in Applied Kinesiology is open to practitioners who have completed a minimum of 3,000 hours of full-time undergraduate education (typically three years) in a medically oriented discipline, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, osteopathy, chiropractic, and physiotherapy.
The programme is delivered through five weekend modules, taught on a monthly basis in line with the academic year. The course provides a structured introduction to Applied Kinesiology, developing core assessment, testing, and clinical integration skills.
At the end of the programme, participants are eligible to sit the Proficiency Examination, a practical assessment of manual muscle testing and foundational Applied Kinesiology principles. Successful candidates are awarded a Certificate of Proficiency.
On completion of the course and examination, practitioners are eligible for membership of ICAK-UK, subject to holding current registration with an approved healthcare regulatory body and appropriate professional liability insurance.
Following the Foundation Course, practitioners may progress to three intermediate modules. Upon successful completion of all eight weekends, candidates are eligible to sit the Test of Clinical Competence, comprising both written and practical assessments. Successful candidates are awarded the Certificate of Clinical Competence and are granted Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) status.
Intermediate and Advanced Courses
Following completion of the Foundation Course, practitioners may progress to Intermediate and Advanced level training within ICAK-UK.
Intermediate modules develop more specialised clinical skills in key areas, including the Cranium and TMJ, the Acupuncture Meridian System, and Peripheral Joint Dysfunctions. These modules consolidate core Applied Kinesiology principles while extending diagnostic accuracy and clinical integration.
Advanced postgraduate seminars are designed for experienced practitioners seeking to deepen their expertise and refine advanced clinical methods. These courses are delivered through specialist teaching events, including programmes held in conjunction with the annual AGM.
Recent topics have included Advanced Orthomolecular Medicine, Foot Biomechanics and Orthotic Prescription, Applied Kinesiology and Visceral Osteopathy, Peripheral Nerve Entrapment, Digestive and Detoxification Pathways, Paediatric Special Needs, Cranial Nerve Assessment and Treatment, Ligament Interlink Technique, Advanced Injury Recall Technique, and specialist programmes such as The Injured Brain: A Non-invasive Protocol for Brain Recovery.
These programmes combine in-depth theoretical teaching with extensive practical application, supporting the development of high-level clinical reasoning and therapeutic skill.
Details of forthcoming Intermediate and Advanced courses are published on our Courses page. To receive updates and early notification of upcoming events, practitioners are encouraged to join our mailing list by emailing info@icak.co.uk.
