Our practitioner listings include details of each member’s certification level, as outlined below.
Level 1 - Proficiency Certified
This is a practical examination taken at the end of the five-module Foundation Course. Its purpose is to demonstrate that the practitioner has understood the core principles of Applied Kinesiology and has developed accurate, reliable, and consistent manual muscle testing skills.
Successful candidates are able to apply these skills safely and effectively within a clinical setting, using standard AK procedures to support assessment and treatment planning.
Level 2 - Clinical Competence Certified
The Clinical Competence examination comprises both written and practical components and is designed to assess deeper theoretical understanding and clinical integration.
Eligibility to sit this examination requires successful completion of the Foundation Course and all approved Intermediate modules. The written examination evaluates knowledge across key areas of Applied Kinesiology, while the practical examination assesses the candidate’s ability to evaluate clinical presentations and apply AK methods appropriately in diagnosis and treatment.
On successful completion, practitioners are awarded Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) status, reflecting advanced clinical reasoning, technical proficiency, and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Level 3 - Diplomate
Diplomate status (DIBAK) represents the highest level of professional certification within the International College of Applied Kinesiology and is administered by the International Board of Examiners (IBE).
To be eligible, candidates must complete a minimum of 300 hours of Applied Kinesiology training with at least two certified teaching diplomates, including advanced syllabus hours, hold appropriate professional registration, and demonstrate sustained clinical experience. Candidates are also required to submit two research or clinical papers accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
The examination process includes five written papers covering core areas of AK knowledge, followed by an extensive practical assessment conducted by senior examiners. Candidates must demonstrate advanced theoretical understanding, diagnostic accuracy, and clinical competence.
After achieving Diplomate status, practitioners undertake supervised teaching and further professional development before becoming eligible for Certified Teaching Diplomate status.
Attainment of DIBAK reflects a high level of professional training, clinical expertise, and commitment to internationally recognised standards of excellence.
