Find an AK Practitioner

Our listings include details of the certification level of our members, as detailed below:

Level 1 – Proficiency Certified

This is a purely practical exam taken at the end of the five-module Foundation Course. The aim is to demonstrate that the individual has understood the concepts of AK and has acquired accurate and reliable muscle-testing skills, allowing them to use this knowledge in a proficient manner within a clinical setting.

Level 2 – Clinical Competence Certified

The Clinical Competence exam is made up of a written test and a practical exam. The individual must have acquired sufficient knowledge of the basics of Applied Kinesiology and its different components, as well as understand how to apply it, in order to pass the written test. The practical exam involves potential clinical presentations and how AK could be used as a diagnostic tool in order to aid both diagnosis and treatment of the patient. On successful completion of the Clinical Competence test, the individual is awarded Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK) status.

Level 3 – Diplomate

Acquiring Diplomate status requires first having studied a minimum of 300 hours of AK, with at least two different certified teaching diplomates and including a set number of Advanced syllabus hours. The candidate must also have written two research or clinical papers accepted for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

The exam is made up of five written papers covering different areas of AK knowledge, taken in one sitting. Once having passed all five papers the candidate must then undertake an extensive and detailed practical exam in the presence of three different members of the International Board of Examiners.

Once having obtained Diplomate status, the candidate must then work under the tutelage of a certified teaching diplomate and obtain sufficient teaching skills before being considered eligible for Certified Teaching Diplomate status.
